As the heir to the throne, Prince Charles is accustomed to a large following wherever he goes.
But surprisingly it was his royal Aston Martin that stole the show when he turned up at a concert in Fairford, Gloucestershire, yesterday.
The event at St Mary’s Church was organised by the Music in Country Churches charity, of which he is a patron, to raise money for another church in the area.

After driving himself to the performance, he greeted and chatted with people waiting outside, including Brownies, Scouts and Cadets, before heading inside for the evening showing.
And as he enjoyed music by the English Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Daisuke Muranaka and Katya Apekisheva, several fans queued to have their photograph beside the classic vehicle.

The Prince of Wales has attended over 50 Music in Country Churches concerts, which is now in its 27th year, after it was set up as a charitable trust in 1989 with his active support.
It’s aim is to help churches with maintenance and upkeep by bringing world-class musicians to country churches of particular beauty and importance.
Writing on the charity’s website, the 66-year-old says: ‘Having attended so many of the trust’s concerts, I have had the opportunity to see and share in the enormous pleasure given by outstanding performances of great works in some of our finest churches and in areas where music of such a standard is rarely or never available.
‘It is one of the Trust’s unique achievements that it has been able to take music of this quality to the countryside and at the same time make significant contributions to over seventy churches to help with the costs of their upkeep.’
Saturday evening’s concert, which began at 7.30pm, featured performances of Chopin Piano Concerto No 2 in F minor Op 21 and Schubert Symphony No 4 in C minor D417 ‘Tragic’.
